On Sunday we went to a car boot sale It was so cold! Gorgeous day, but freezing! My hands were completely numb by the time we got back to the car with our finds. Today is sunny again I love car boots! Did you find anything nice? I got two CDs (Nat King Cole and Gorillaz), a DVD (Calendar Girls), a BluRay (Brother Bear), and SkyD got a PS2 game and a Dungeons and Dragons board game Oh, and I got a book of skeletons! Very interesting!

Never, in the almost 34 years we have been here have I seen floods like this! Fields almost totally submerged, 'rivers' pouring out of every gateway on the upper side of the roads. It took me ages to drive home from the shop, traffic nose to tail, queuing up both ways to drive through several torrents. I was actually physically shaking at one point So glad I wasn't in my wee Clio! My Peter Storm doesn't do what it says on the tin and is not waterproof so got soaked through going back and forth to the car (neighbour gave me masses of stuff for the shop). Think I need a hot bath and a drink!

We to have had a lot of rain - so much standing water in the fields & my garden is totally sodden - no chance of getting anything in or weeded or dug at the moment. And it is very windy & a cold mean wind. I want some summer Have a nice bath & a S/F!

SF and YP, I was thinking of you when I saw the forecast yesterday and today! It is very wet again here, and the fields were already sodden, and it's pretty parky too. Who stole Spring?

Terrible, terrible news about the coach crash in Lanarkshire . Your first thoughts have to be for the family , but my second thoughts were WTF were they (the school and coach operator) thinking, setting off on a school trip in that weather? A 700 mile round trip to an overpriced tacky theme park? Was it really that important?

I heard an interview on the radio this afternoon by one pupil's mum. He was meant to go on the trip but didn't think it was safe, so cancelled his place at the last minute. She said herself she was really shocked the whole trip wasn't cancelled

Someone said (apart from the families ) what about the poor driver, who undoubtedly had no say in whether he should be driving them in those conditions! doesn't bear thinking about!

I'm afraid I disagree . 'I was only obeying orders' is no defence. If he believed lives were at risk he shouldn't have started the engine. Would we think it was OK for a pilot to take off in what he believed to be dangerous conditions because the airline had told him to?

Would we think it was OK for a pilot to take off in what he believed to be dangerous conditions because the airline had told him to? It always the decision of the pilot whether to fly or not. Whatever company, the buck stops with her/him. Should be the same for a PSV driver, too.
